Mr Dulcken’s Concert September 12, 2019 admin Leave a comment Dear Emily, Just to let you know Mr Dulcken had his first trip out last weekend. He was the solo harpsichord in a concert with Warwickshire Baroque orchestra. It took place in Holy Trinity Church in Coventry last Saturday. Here’s a link to the orchestra’s website. http://warwickshirebaroque.org We borrowed a piano trolley and had lots of people to help the loading in Devon and at the concert venue. It all went well, after we sorted the balance and acoustics. We ended up playing with Mr Dulcken’s lid up, facing sideways, so the sound went towards the audience. Here’s some photos- lid on the short stick for the picture. Rosemary Robinson – soloist Bach harpsichord Concerto in D minor. . A rare concerto for Viola da Gamba… February 28, 2018February 28, 2018 admin Leave a comment Not a lot is known about Anton Milling apart from the fact that he lived during the second half of the 18th century. However, his Concerto in D minor for Viola da Gamba is delightful and once again Jacqui Robertson-Wade is the soloist on 28 April, following a great performance of the Telemann Concerto in A minor (together with recorder player Katie Allsop) last summer at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire.
Bach Brandenburg Concertos February 28, 2018February 28, 2018 admin Leave a comment A year ago last April we performed Bach’s Brandenburg No. 3 in G for 10 string parts and keyboard; this year, on 28 April, we are presenting Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D for flute, violin and harpsichord. This piece is well known for its extended harpsichord cadenza in the first movement and we are delighted to have Rosemary Robinson to perform this. A concert not to be missed: St. Peter’s Church, Witherly, Leicestershire.
